It begins!

Welcome, creatives, dreamers and the like!

I like to think that I am practical, frugal, and financially savvy. I like to invest my time and efforts into things that matter a lot. That... or spend every waking moment binging on Breath of the Wild gameplay. BUT! I have put that aside for now, because I have something exciting arriving soon!

For my birthday, I've decided that the present I wanted most, after my husband dug through my Amazon wishlist and reminded me that it was on there, that I was going to invest in a MonsterMakers Ed Head! So today, I put in an order for one! This will bring me one step closer to working on Masqfurade!

For those who do not know, Masqfurade is my subsidiary costume-making business. I have a little bit of experience with making animal costumes, but I wish to refine my technique, turn my style more towards realistic and use either resin bases, or if I am lucky, 3D printed polymers. Here is how my first mask turned out from 5 years ago.

While it wasn't the worst attempt, I feel I have much more to offer in regards to animal costuming. I currently have a partner whom I will be working with to attempt my first 3D printed mask. I am excited for when the day arrives that it will be completed. So in the meantime, I thought I should get prepared for my next step, hence, getting an Ed Head for my birthday!

Because then THIS:

will become this!

I seriously got swatches of every flipping shade of brown faux fur that exists in this world because I knew it would happen at some point. I'm excited to be taking a step in the right direction! Wish me luck!

Keep dreaming! ~ Nova Nocturne
